The Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia was established in 1985 with the objective to provide quality engineering education. The mission of the Faculty is to produce engineers with high technical competence, conduct internationally recognized research, and provide quality professional and community services. The Faculty has strength of over 3000 students and over 200 academic, administrative and technical staff. It comprises the following seven departments:
The Faculty offers several Ph.D., M.Tech., M.Sc, B.Tech. and Diploma programs. At present, the following B.Tech. programs are being offered: B.Tech. (Civil Engineering)· B.Tech. (Computer Engineering)· B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering)· B.Tech (Electronics· & Communication Engineering)
Candidates are required to read the brochure carefully. Although all possible care has been taken to compile the information brochure correctly, the University reserves the right to change/modify the provisions made in this brochure by notifying through addendum/ corrigendum on the University website. Candidates shall not be informed of any such change individually and are advised to check the University website (http://jmi.ac.in) and JEE Main (2016) website (http://www.jeemain.nic.in) regularly.
To get admission candidate have must main subjects, with not less than 55% marks in PCM or diploma in engineering recognised by AICTE or a state board of technical education of three or four year duration with not less than 55% marks. The age of the candidate should not be less than 17 years on October 1 of the year of admission.
For BArch courses, a candidate who has passed Class 12 examination and has secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate with mathematics, English, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects shall be eligible to join the first year of the BArch course, subject to an aptitude test or a three year diploma (10+3) recognised by Central/State government provided the candidate has passed the diploma with 50% marks in aggregate.
